Creative Strategies Hires Industry Veteran to Join the Accu-flo Team

LOUISVILLE, KY. – (November 14, 2011) Creative Strategies is pleased to announce Ralph Piercy has joined the organization to lead their corporate development efforts in the areas of new business, business partnerships and fueling overall corporate growth. Piercy’s team will work closely with larger pharmacies, long term care facilities and correctional institutions to implement its flagship solution Accu-flo in the United States, Europe and Asia.

University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Community Provider Services Presidents Award Winner

LOUISVILLE, KY. – (November 9, 2011) – On September 27, 2011 Rx Partners was presented with the President’s Award at the UPMC Community Provider Services Quality Fair. This award was presented based on the “Initiation of an electronic Medication Administration Record (MAR) at a UPMC Senior Communities Skilled Nursing Facility.” The electronic MAR being utilized by the facility is Creative Strategies’ Accu-flo product.

Dallas County Jail receives high marks from Inspectors

LOUISVILLE, KY. – (October 13, 2011) – In April of 2009, Creative Strategies, Inc. created a new division in support of its paperless Accu-flo electronic medication administration reporting (eMAR) and began offering a system ideal for correctional settings. Accu-flo handles the accurate collection, editing, communication, organization and timely storage of correctional care medication events. The system offers integration with intake systems, electronic health records (EHR) and dispensing systems for the unique keep-on-person solution for inmates who self-administer medications.

Dallas County jail launched the system in April 2010 in a proactive move to meet the justice system’s requirements on improving inmate medical care for health issues. After Dallas County’s most current inspection, a news release dated September 24, 2011, the Sheriff’s department quoted one of the inspectors, Leonard Rice, as calling this week’s visit “the most successful consulting project I’ve worked on in 22 years.”

University of Pittsburgh Expands Usage of Accu-flo

Making MARs More Managable...

LOUISVILLE, KY - (November 2007) - Medication Administration Record (MAR). The mere mention of these three words at the end of the month is likely to send overworked nurses into hiding to avoid overtime and administrators to their desks in search of pain reliever. To long-term care, rehabilitation, and assisted living facilities, a MAR is a document that's on every medicine cart. When a nurse takes medication out of his or her cart and administers it to a patient, he or she has to document, typically by hand, information he or she is giving and the reasons for dispensing it to the patient. At the end of each month, a MAR changeover occurs to ensure that the document is correct before the facility sends the record to its designated pharmacy, where the pharmacy prints the record for the next cycle.

Medication System saves time, money... eMedPass passes test at health, rehab center....

Louisville, KY (August 2007) - A year ago, pill time at Oaklawn Health & Rehabilitation Center in eastern Jefferson County was a tedious chore. Pushing a cart from room to room, a nurse would wade through the sheaf of medical forms that spell out each patient's regimen, administer the drugs, log the transaction and repeat the procedure at the next room in a "medical pass" process that could take two to three hours. Today, things are different in one of the center's four wings, where Oaklawn has installed eMedPass, a computerized system from Louisville company Creative Strategies. "It makes the medicine pass go a lot faster", said nurse manager Shannon Davis. The system, designed by company owner and President John Carroll, promises to cut medicine distribution times, reduce the chance of error, automate record-keeping and notify nurses when its time to reorder drugs.
